 How We Can HelpFor Referring Professionals
For Referring Professionals Minimize

I have been a general pediatrician in the community for 15 years now.  Over my years of practicing, I have become increasingly concerned regarding the breadth and depth of body image and weight disturbances amongst children and teens--and frustrated with the lack of resources, mostly time, with which to address them.  The culmination of this process has been a decision to leave general pediatrics and pursue this endeavor.  I will not be seeing patients for primary care any longer.  I have spent the last several years reading and training in preparation for this exciting move.

California Center for Healthy Living draws from the talents of skilled professionals across multiple disciplines to help children and families with medical and psychosocial concerns about weight and body image.

Criteria for referral:

  • Overweight or obese children and adolescents who might benefit from our multidisciplinary approach;
  • Children and adolescents of all sizes who have concerns about weight—or who want help with negative body image;
  • Parents who wish to prevent a generational cycle of unstable weight and/or anxiety about eating;
  • Parents of children of all ages who have challenges with feeding their children.
