Referring Professionals

California Center for Healthy Living draws from the talents of skilled professionals across multiple disciplines to help children and families with medical and psychosocial concerns about weight and body image.

Criteria for referral, children and adults:

  • Overweight treatment or prevention, including rapid crossing of percentiles in childhood;
  • Underweight or weight loss where specific medical causes have been ruled out;
  • Severely picky eaters;
  • Significant parental anxiety about the weight of a child of any size;
  • Eating disorders:  anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder;
  • Athletes who desire nutritional or psychological support;
  • Patients with metabolic/ medical issues that require specific dietary guidance.

For most patients, we recommend the general intake process starting with the physician.  If you are certain, however that you only need services of the registered dietitian or therapist, you may book directly with these professionals.
